Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.
The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
